Meet the Owners
John and Lindsey took ownership of the property on April 30th, 2021, and wasted no time in embarking on a remarkable project. They decided to convert the abandoned commercial chicken farm into a charming family farm. Both individuals longed to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in a more rewarding and fulfilling rural existence. With unwavering determination, they set about transforming the property into a haven of productivity and tranquility. They envisioned a place where they could cultivate their own crops, raise livestock, and bask in the joys of nature. Their endeavor was fueled by a shared passion for self-sustainability and a desire to create a wholesome environment for their future generations.
John had a remarkable military career, serving the country for 38 years. John enlisted in the US Army in 1982. Starting as an enlisted soldier, John rose through the enlisted ranks, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant before transitioning to become a Warrant Officer. Retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, he specialized in engineering throughout his entire military tenure. Initially trained as a Carpentry & Masonry Specialist (MOS 51B), John's skills evolved, leading him to become a General Engineering Supervisor (MOS 51Z) in the enlisted branch. Upon graduation from Warrant Officer Candidate School, he was awarded with MOS 210A Utilities Operations & Maintenance Technician. Upon promotion to Chief Warrant Officer 3, MOS 120A Construction Engineering Technician was awarded to him. John's dedication and expertise have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the military. Even though John is retired, he still keeps busy serving his community as an active Volunteer Firefighter with the Union Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
Lindsey, a veteran who served seven years in the Florida Army National Guard, had a diverse career within the military. She initially began as a 27D Paralegal Specialist and later transitioned to become a 42A Human Resources Specialist. After leaving the military, Lindsey ventured into the administrative world on the State side of the Florida National Guard, where she gained valuable experience. However, her path took a new direction when her husband discovered the Old Boggy Road property. Since then, Lindsey has dedicated herself to being a caregiver while also assisting with the development of the property. Her commitment to both her loved ones and the land exemplifies her unwavering dedication and passion. Lindsey is also a Volunteer Firefighter with the Union Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and serves has the Treasurer for the Department.
